Substyle in Kendo.
Formed in 18th century by Abe Goradaiyu, this is the oldest traditional Kendo school. Sensei Abe
focused his training on mental and moral discipline rather than to first of all become skilled in
physical technigue.
Abe Goradaiyu is thought to be the first to use the term ken no michi (kendo), or way of the sword.
Abe Goradaiyu was a disciple of Tisha Ryu, a style with its roots in Ken-jutsu.
